President Donald Trump has warned Harvard University that it may lose its tax-exempt status if it continues to push political, ideological, and terrorist-inspired views. The White House wants the oldest university in the US to change how it hires, admissions, and teaches, claiming it will help fight antisemitism on campus. Since retaking office, Trump has used threats to change the way top universities operate by threatening to withdraw government funds primarily used for research. On Monday, Harvard became the first major US university to reject the White House’s demands, stating that the White House was attempting to ’control’ its community.
